Recapped By: Pat Schutte - OMS Sports

DELMONT, PA (September 1, 2002) - Team Moto XXX's Nick Wey matched his best finish with 8th overall in the premier 250cc class at the Final Round of the AMA/Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross Championships at the Steel City SoBe National. He ended his first year in the class with 8-10 moto finishes.

"I had so much fun all season on my Moto XXX Yamaha," said Wey of the Steel City National. "I didn't expect to be riding much at all this summer. So to just have a few good races in for me is a great push for me into the 2003 series. I want to thank Moto XXX and DGY for all their support this year."

With the final round complete, Wey earned 12th place in the 250cc championship standings with 147 points.

Wey says this about the off-season, "I expect to be at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas and maybe do a few other races in the next few months. I definitely will be ready to do even better in supercross next year beginning January 4."

Wey and the Moto XXX team travel to the U.S. Open of Motocross in Las Vegas on October 11th.
