Bad Starts Plague Wey at Anaheim

Recapped By: Pat Schutte - OMS Sports

SAN FRANCISCO, (Feb. 3, 2004) - Team Suzuki's Nick Wey overcame a bad start and raced to a 10th place finish last at Anaheim, securing his spot in 7th overall in the 2004 THQ/AMA Supercross Series title chase - just several points out of the top five. This week Wey and Team Suzuki travel to Pacific Bell Park in San Francisco for Round Seven of the Series.

Said Wey on this past weekend's race: "I rode good, the track was pretty easy, but I just got a bad start. So I'll soak in my sorrow for seven days, then be pumped to do better this Saturday in San Francisco. It's a cool stadium and I need to do better."

Wey said he took his frustration out this week at the Suzuki test track, on his road cycle and in the gym.

"I need to do better," he says.

Next week Wey and Team Suzuki will be in Houston's Reliant Stadium - site of the Superbowl XXXVIII - for Round Seven of the 2004 THQ/AMA Supercross Series.
