Wey Still Pushing for Top Results

Recapped By: Pat Schutte - OMS Sports

MT. MORRIS, Pa., (June 1, 2004) - Team Suzuki's Nick Wey scored another top ten finish at the nationals, racing to a ninth place overall finish in the 250 class at the 28th Thor Pro Motocross Nationals, Round Two of the AMA Chevrolet Motocross Championship.

Wey, who went 11-9 for ninth overall, is currently eighth overall in the 250 class points standings after two races.

"Yeah, eighth isn't where I planned on being after two races," said Wey. "My RM 250's running great, especially against all of the four strokes out there. I've just got to get out of the gate better, get out front so I don't have to worry about climbing back through the pack like I have been."

Wey continued: 'My teammate (Sean Hamblin) rode well again this weekend and there's no reason why I can't be right up there with the front runners for Suzuki. I'm going to use this time off to work on a couple things back in Michigan, get out and ride some sand and be ready to go for Southwick."

Wey and Team Suzuki roll into Southwick a week from this Sunday (June 13) for Round Three of the AMA Chevrolet Motocross Championship.
