Nick Wey Finishes 8th Overall at Broome-Tioga

Recapped By: Pat Schutte - OMS Sports

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Team Suzuki's Nick Wey went 9-6 for an 8th place overall finish this past weekend at Broome-Tioga Sport Center, Round 10 of the 2004 AMA Chevrolet Motocross Championship.

Wey, aboard an RM 250, lost a bit of ground on friendly rival Ernesto Fonseca in the battle for sixth place overall, now trailing Fonseca by eight points with two races remaining.

"I got a couple bad starts and my lap times were indicative of right where I finished," said Wey. "Tough track to move up on if you didn't get good starts, so, if there's something positive to pull out of this, I was pleased I moved up in the standings.

"Other than that - plain and simple - I'm just going to have to race better at the final two races."

Wey and Team Suzuki take this weekend off before returning to action Sept. 5th at Steel City. Last year at Steel City Wey finished 12th overall (13-9).
