Nick Wey Finishes 7th Overall in the 2004 AMA 250cc Outdoor Nationals

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Team Suzuki's Nick Wey bounced back from a 12th place finish in the first moto at Glen Helen to capture sixth in the second moto - good enough for a top ten (8th) finish overall at the final round of the AMA Chevrolet U.S. Motocross Championship.

"Yeah, without a couple problems I'd have easily been in the top five overall," said Wey of his seventh place overall finish in the Nationals.

One of the more consistent riders on the tours - both motocross and supercross - Wey finished in the top ten at ten out of 12 Nationals this summer. He was only several points out of sixth place and, had it not been for a couple 12th place finishes early in the season, he would have likely made the top five - just like he did in supercross.

"I improved a bunch this year and will work to carry that over to next year, continuing to improve and put up consistent results," said Wey.

Wey added that he's not sure if he'll be racing the US Open or not, but will for certain contest for the supercross title.
